Maxima "Ultima"

This pipe must be seen to be fully appreciated. The straight grain is about the best I've seen and certainly best straight grained pipe I ever carved. It is very tight and even all around the bowl and also on the side of the shank.

The birds eyes a stunning and I was going to keep this pipe foe me, but unfortunately I had a visitor to my workshop while carving it and it's spoken for...bugger, well there is always next time, but I think it will be long wait before I pull one like that from my hat :-)

It is a large pipe and I hardly put any stain on it and the natural coloring in the briar is nicely offset with hand cut Cumberlain stem. All in all great "Signature" Ultima" pipe...
