Well this is it, my best pipe ever, and it carries the "Ultima" grade with pride :-)
I had this stunning piece of Horn on top of my desk for some time, deciding what to do with it and waiting for suitable block of Plateaux to marry it to...well it finally all came together last week and what a pipe, I fell instantly in love with it...
I don't thing I will be able to get my hands on the same piece of Horn in long time, if ever again. The Plateaux is simply stunning and ofcourse spotless...
Pipe is finish in Orange over Walnut to bring the forestry overtones into the play and to match it more closely to the Horn stem...
The design of the stem is special as well, on most pipes you will see them facing the other way and the Horn is also permanently attached to the briar...Not on this pipe...You can remove the whole stem for cleaning in the same way as any other stem, and the balance is much more pleasing with the crown of the Horn facing into the pipe...Stem is fitted with White Delryn tennon for smooth fit and the bowl is bare. If you like coating, please let me know when you place the order and I will coat it with my Pumice/Charcoal formula...
The price reflects the amount of time I spend on this pipe and it will be a sad day when I have to take it to the post office, so I hope it will not be tooooo soon :-

The most beautiful pipe I have ever seen. We are avid big game hunters here.
That is one heck of a pipe, excellent work! Just as a matter of interest, I notice that the underneath view looks a bit like the grip of a single action revolver, was this intentional? It fits with the "hunter" name if so!
That is one of most drop dead beautiful pipes I've ever laid eyes on. As a life long deer hunter and as a bower and primitive arrow builder it is one of the most resourceful uses of small antler pieces I've seen. Great job, I just wish I could afford because if I could it would be mine! Jeff A.
