Just recieved my pipe-am truly pleased it was more than I expected quality wise-was delivered on time!!! Thanks, HH
Morning TideJust discovered your site. Awesome pipes you have! While I am a relatively new pipe smoker, I find myself interested in magnum pipes. Is your Latitude 41 in the category of a Magnum. If so, will you be offering it again in a larger size? Thank you.
Mary CelesteHello Jan, These pictures really don?t do justice to your pipes. You really have to see and feel these pipes in person to appreciate the fit and finish. Needless to say they all pass the "Pipe Cleaner" test with flying colors. The mortise and tenon fit tight and flush. The stem work is impeccable. The bits are thin and comfortable (I hate to bite them though). The drilling is spot on and the tobacco chambers are all of good size. I?ve now had a chance to smoke all three of the pipes I ordered and must say they all are excellent smokers. The Mary Celeste and 2003 Club pipes smoke cool and just feel great in the hand. Before smoking the Morning Tide, I really couldn?t see why some people like billiards so much. My only other billiard was a filtered Bing?s Favorite that wasn?t really my favoriteJ I challenged this new pipe by smoking an aromatic (Berry Cobbler) in it. I wanted to see if it would gum up or smoke hot. It didn?t. With its "Eltang" coating there was absolutely no bite. Aside from a quick poke with a pipe cleaner to absorb moisture, it smoked clear, cool and smooth all the way down to a gray ash. Now I get it. Billiards are our friends tooJ Regarding my preference for coating or not, I?m sorry to say I love them both. In the future I will probably order coated on rusticated or darker finished pipes. On the lighter finished smooth finished, I will order bare chambers. The reason being, the 2003 Club pipe, even in this short time, is already becoming darker and richer in color. I?m thinking there really is something to having a bare chamber that allows it to absorb some of the tobacco. It seams to be broken in already and is quite an enjoyable to smoker too. For the caliber of pipes you are producing they are a great value. Needless to say, for me, all of the pipes were well worth the wait. Thank you again for your patience, workmanship, and courteous service. Kindest Regards Rodney
GandorrJan, I must say so far I'm very impressed with the quality of your product from the packaging to the smoking quality. I have several different pipes, Ardor's, a few from Walt Cannoy, Pipa Croci amoungst others but the Gandorr smokes very well and has got to be one of my best. The fit and finish is top notch and the pipe passes a cleaner with ease. I will be contacting you in the future for another of your pipes to add to my collection. Thanks again for the great service and excellent product. Best Regards, Chris Pelletier
AmrothHello, Jan. The YPSC 2003 pipe finally arrived today. It is such a beautiful pipe, and I love the shape and design. The mouthpiece shape (one of my favorites) is very similar to the one on the Sourani that I bought from you a few years back. I immediately loaded it with Old Gowrie, smoked half before dinner, and am about to sit down for the second half. Also, the Amroth arrived a week ago. I unwrapped the package, pulled it from its box, and just stared at it on and off for several hours, before finally loading it, lighting, and smoking. Yes, I had told you that it was to be a gift for a friend's retirement party, but it is such a beautiful pipe and I've been wanting one of your churchwardens for so long, I just couldn't bear to give it away. (I had to rush out and quickly buy a different gift.) I smoked it 2 to 3 times a day for 5 days (half-bowls only) before finally giving it a rest. I'm definitely going to want more churchwardens in the future, and I already have my eye on your Elladan. As always, I deeply appreciate your wonderful service and careful packaging, and of course your beautiful designs. I now have 6 Zeman pipes, and they all smoke exceptionally well. Take care, KL Ramsey
North CapeDear Jan: Yesterday, I received the North Cape that I had been waiting for. Thank you. I have smoked it once and already I am impressed. I will surely buy another one in the future. I have got my eyes on your Old Sea Dog--my idea of a truly beautiful pipe--but this one is beyond my current budget. I live in a religious community and so have to budget carefully. But your North Cape is a great deal. Keep making pipes. Take care, Ralph
GandorrDear Jan I?ve just got your gandorr pipe, my second pipe from you. I have to notice that this is a masterwork of design skills and excellent craftmanship far beyond the average pipedesign. It?s smokes easely and durable, suits well in my hand so it provides me with long and convenience smoking. It will always have a superior position in my pipe collection. Definitively not the last Zeman Pipe in collection. Looking forward for new pipe creations from your workshop. Kai Br?ggemann, Z?rich, Switzerland
YPSC 2004 Club PipeWOW!! How's that for a comment Jan?! I just received my YPSC 2004 Club pipe today and opened the package with great excitement. Although a pipe smoker for almost seven years and a member of YPSC since 1999, this was my first YPSC pipe; my first Zeman pipe (I have #14 of 100). I had a quick and simple dinner tonight and then gleefully packed my new pipe with GL Pease Cumberland and lit up my first bowl. I'm smoking the pipe as I type this. This pipe is fantastic! I love the style and the part smooth, part rustication. I love the feel of the bowl in my hand. And it smokes like heaven! This is the most expensive pipe I ever purchased by it's worth it. It is a gift to myself for the stressful year I had in 2004. As I am smoking this pipe (enjoying every puff), I know I have now experienced the difference between an average/good pipe and a "quality" pipe. Jan, I appauld you for the the workmanship on this quality handmade pipe. I love it! Thank you Jan!
YPSC 2004 Club PipeHave just recieved my 8th Zeman pipe. The 2004 Club pipe, probably the best yet.The new formula carbon layer that you got from Tom Eltang has really impressed me.I normally do not like a pre carbond pipe, but this system has a course granulation and is extremaly hard.It smokes like a well seasoned favourite from the fist bowl.I hope you intend to continue using this formulation in the future. Great work as always.
ThorrinHi Jan, I orered a Thorin a few months ago (and paid via pay pal)and haven't heard a peep. I've sent a couple of emails but haven't gotten a response. I know that you were travelling abroad for the show at Cuxhaven, but drop me a line (at your convenience) and let me know the expected turn around for my pipe. regards Tony

Hi Jan, it was a really pleasure to meet you at Cuxhaven at hte pipe-show. Hope You got back to NZ right well and also hope to see you next year again (hopefully with a little more money in my pocket ;-)) Cheers from Bonn, Gemany, Jan Gropp
just a few words to say your work is awsome .beautiful pipes. easy to navigate site and its great being able to see the pipes from diferent angles. keep up the good work.
bellissime pipe che purtroppo non posseggo. sono sicuro che tra un po' la lacuna sara' colmata. distinti saluti pietro.
I don't have one of these pipes as I'm very new to the whole pipe smoking scene. After a couple of drug store pipes, I did break down and get me a "big Ben" pipe today. I'm set back a couple months pay now but it sure smokes good. Months? yes. Either way, I love looking at works of art which are fare beyond my reach. I'll never know why but I do appreciate fine works of art.
YPSC 2003 Club PipeJan, I have been smoking my YPSC 2003 pipe for several months now, and it has become one of my favorites. It is mechanically perfect, the grain is wonderful, and it smoke sweetly from the first bowlful of tobacco. I recommend this pipe to everyone, and I am looking forward to adding another Zeman pipe to my collection. Best wishes, Tom Butler
Jan, Thank you for the tour of your workshop. I haven't been smoking pipes for too long and never realized what workmanship goes into making one. Now that understand the process a little more. I'll appreciate the work that goes into a truly good pipe.

DoradoWell, I got home from work today and, waiting in my mailbox, was Dorado! Well, my friend, all I can say is, "Wow!" This is an exquisite piece of work (and yes, I'll post a similar message to your site, too!). It is a pipe I'm simply thrilled to own, and one I'll treasure forever. It is beautiful. I have to thank you for working with me so that this could/has become the centerpiece of my pipe collection. Jan, I remember once seeing a post from you that you don't expect to ever be a "high-grade" pipe maker. Seeing Dorado, as well as other pieces you've carved, I have to disagree. To me, a high-grade pipe is one that combines flawless engineering with excellent execution of the briar carving and innovation in design. From the first pipe you sold me, the 2000 YPSC Club pipe, I saw the engineering. You've progressed, or my pipes from you have progressed, from that to including that excellence in carving. Dorado proves, as do the LOTR pipes and the Signature class, that you've discovered an ability to create a unique and excellent design. To me, that says that Jan Zeman carves high-grades. So tell me, what, in your opinion, keeps you from admitting that you carve high-grades? Yours - John
GandorrOh baby! I just got my pipe in the mail after waiting/anticipating over a week. I can't wait to light that baby up. It is as if it were made for my hand. I have always felt an urge to smoke my pipe as I watch the LOR movies or read the books...now i have the perfect pipe to do it with (with more soon to follow)! Thank you so much for making some sweet, sweet pipes like this set. I must buy them all now! Keep up the good work, and I'll keep up the buying!
DoradoHello Jan, I am a new member of the Yahoo pipe Club. I have not smoked one of your pipes(yet) but i have heared nothing but good things and glowing reveiws. And from what i have seen on your site i will soon have one of your great works in my collection. My comment on your "fish" pipe is Amazingly graceful. It is like music stopped in time and hardened into briar! It is very beautiful. Nick.
outstanding pipes and web site:)
Your web site is really looking good. Very nicely designed. It could be improved by adding the Yahoo Australian Pipe Smokers Group to your list of links. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/australianpipesmokers/ We are happy to have your promotional posts on our sites, but would like a link in exchange. I hear very good things of your pipes - glad that they are making such an impact! Kind regards, Graeme Founder & Moderator, Yahoo Australian Pipe Smokers Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/australianpipesmokers/
YPSC 2000 Club PipeFinally got to smoking my new pipe this weekend. A new experience with the smoking chamber being so large. smoked my 2001 YPSC pipe also, and same comments apply. Your favorite tobacco provides a new level of flavor with a larger smoking channel. Can't wait until I start in on the 2002 and 2003 pipes. Especially can't wait to see what Jan has in store for the 2004 YPSC selection. If you want a quality pipe and not interested in spending $200. and up, contact Mr. Zeman about his YPSC offerings.
